Ex-library from the office of Professor Doctor Johannes Rahder from the Yale University Hall of Graduate Studies and Leiden University. His name and information is stamped onto the front cover of each volume, with volume one saying Yale and volumes two through four saying Leiden. Pages have age-related toning and foxing. Hinges have some wear in the first two volumes, but the last two volumes do not have good support for the pages. Edges of pages have some toning and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. Henri Cordier was a French linguist, ethnologist, and historian. He was the president of the French Geographical Society in Paris, and was a prominent figure in the advancement of scholarship of Central and East Asia in Europe. This four volume set of French language publications tells the general history of China, as well as its relationship to other foreign countries.
