Description: Very nice copy of the rare 1955 first pressing of Carmen Prietto's Songs from Mexico LP on Westminster WN-18142. Original gatefold cover with wonderful artwork by Olga Lehmann. Later pressings have an ugly plain cover. Features the somewhat legendary British guitarist, Bert Weedon, on his first recording. He later was an influence on the early British rock guitarists in the 60s, including Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and the Beatles. Anyhow this record is nothing like that. Beautiful Mexican folk songs sung by a lovely soprano with just a guitar accompaniment. This is a truly great copy, as well. The disc does have some light scuffs but it plays beautifully with only very light crackle in a few spots, but not bad at all. Comes in its original plastic inner sleeve with the Westminster seal sticker still attached (it has of course been opened). The cover has only light general wear, with some soft corners and a bit of fraying on the spine, but still quite beautiful. This is a top original copy, hard to beat.
