Description: Prescott is a city in and the county seat of Yavapai County, Arizona, with a population of 39,843 in 2010. In 1864, Prescott was designated as the capital of the Arizona Territory, replacing the temporary capital of Fort Whipple. The territorial Capital was moved to Tucson in 1867 and then back to Prescott in 1877, until Phoenix became the capital in 1889. The Yavapai-Prescott Native American reservation is adjacent to and partially within the borders. The city of Prescott was incorporated in 1881. Willow Creek is one of four major North-South drainages that pass thru the Goldfield Mountains on the way to the Salt River and Saguaro Lake. It originates in the area of Little Four Peaks, then crossed to the west near Apache Gap and parallels Highway 88 on its west-northwest side. This is a “Paul M. Rieder” card. Reider printed and published view-cards of the west in Los Angeles between 1901 and 1915. His cards were printed in Germany except those contracted out to Edward H. Mitchell in the United States. It is in good condition with two lower bent corners and minor wear on the upper corners and edges. The image has postal ink on an otherwise clean and clear hand tinted image. The reverse is written on but is clean. There is a lot of “Buts” here, but it is a nice card. The colors on the card may vary due to the scanner settings and screen projections.Unless otherwise noted, I use Wikipedia, Playle's and Metropostcard for research and try to be as accurate as possible. Corrections appreciated. If this your card, it will be mailed promptly upon receipt of payment......
