Description: Beginning in December 1940, Hoover lived primarily in New York City. His home was Suite 31-A of the Waldorf Towers, a Park Avenue landmark. Here Hoover conducted a very productive post-Presidency. At the age of 86, he traveled 14,000 miles, delivered 20 speeches, and accepted many awards and citations. Herbert Hoover's signature is on a portion of stationary from The Waldorf Astoria. It appears to have been cut with perhaps scissors? to fit in the envelope. It is evident when unfolded because it it not a perfectly straight line as if done by a machine. The envelope flap has been torn but is included ( see images) I have covered the name and address of the recipient. The postmark is June 15, 1961. Mr. Hoover died October 20, 1964 Thank you A-5
