Vintage 1940’s/50’s I.Magnin Dress Blue w/ Pockets Gorgeous Size 6(?)

Description: This beautiful dress was my Great Aunt Leanor's who was very fashionable and always looked her best living in San Francisco. Our best guess is that it is from the 1940's or 50's. My mother wore it around SanFrancisco in the 1970's and received so many compliments, my sister even wore is in the 80's. It is such a great dress and doesn't go out of style. There is a tag in it that indicates it came from I.Magnin, but no other information such as size or fabric. I expect that it may have been fitted specially for my great aunt. I am no expert on fabrics but the fabric it seems like a heavy weight linen of very nice quality but seem to wrinkle like linen. It has a very nice quality of hanging beautifully. The front button closures work very nicely and it has a couple additional eye hooks to keep the dress secure. The addition of pockets makes this dress even better. it has some lovely detailing of some pleats in the front. I took photos of the dress on the model inside out so you can see the construction of the dress, it appears that there would be some room for alterations if needed. The dress is in used very good vintage condition. There are a couple of small stains that I found, I circled them and pointed them out in the photos at the end. The collar is a bit of mild discoloration around the edge. In the right light the interior pleated portions of the dress are a tad darker than the rest of the dress. The armpits have just a tad of darkening. All the seams are strong and intact, no tears or holes. Also to note the photos that I took in the brightest of light makes the dress appear a bit lighter and a bit more washed out than it really is. The color in real life is better represented by the photos where it appears darker. As far as size the mannequin I have used is a size 6. The dress fit her well but there was a bit of room in the dress still. Measuring the dress flat the bust is approx 16 1/4" across, the waist is 14" across and the dress overall is 44" long.
